 The 2-3 hour shopping session will begin with a review of client goals, targeted stores, and the working budget. In the case of a department store or boutique experience, the consultant will work side-by-side with the client to "pull" items from the racks and coordinate outfits. When working with a private collection or clothing line, the consultant will work with the representative to choose pieces and ensembles. As a relationship grows with an individual client and a consultant intimately understands his or her special tastes and needs, it is the hope that the personal shopping function might evolve into one of independence and trust where the client feels comfortable empowering a consultant to shop on an unscheduled basis.
